Meteoro 2025 organized and disciplined


Havana, May 26th. - The People's Exercise of Actions in Disaster Situations Meteoro 2025, which concluded today, with organization and discipline, strengthened the preparation to face dangers of natural, technological and health origin.

Santiago de Cuba developed a series of demonstration exercises, and one of the most relevant moments was the earthquake drill, where specialized brigades carried out evacuation and rescue actions in vulnerable areas.

In addition, fire response tests were carried out with the participation of the Fire Corps, which demonstrated the speed and effectiveness in the extinction of casualties.

Several demonstrative practical exercises were held today in Ciego de Ávila with a view to strengthening the capacities of the management and command bodies in the face of the occurrence of emergencies, as part of the Popular Exercise of Actions in Meteoro Disaster Situations 2025.

In areas of the central Twelve Strory building of the provincial capital there was an exercise of extinction of a fire, rescue and rescue of people, in which the Rescue and Light Rescue Group of the territory participated, as a fundamental force, in addition to the Fire Corps, the Cross

Red and the Single Integrated Emergency System (SIUM).

As part of the 2025 Meteor, the Avileños also developed exercises of occupation of protective works in the event of hurricanes, cleaning of rivers, canyons, ditches, canals, and pruning and logging of trees that affect electrical and communications layouts.

With an emphasis on preparation for phenomena of technological and natural origin, emergency landing drills, firefighting and rescue victims were developed in Holguín as part of the exercise.

In the face of a cyclonic season that is predicted active, with a high probability that hurricanes will originate and intensify in the Caribbean and that the island will be affected by its impact, preparations of protocols for action, seismology and meteorology were developed in the same way.

With practical activities aimed at reducing vulnerabilities and protecting essential resources for the feeding of the population and the economy such as rice and tobacco, the Exercise of Actions in Disaster Situations Meteor 2025 concluded in the province of Sancti Spíritus.

To the Manolo Solano Base Business Unit, a rice industry located in the city of Sancti Spíritus, and belonging to the Agroindustrial Company of Granos Sur del Jíbaro, arrived the Provincial Defense Council,

led by its president, Deivy Pérez Martín, to verify the work aimed at the hygienization of its areas and the preservation of the defendant assortment.

In Nueva Gerona, the Municipal Defense Council, chaired by Rafael Ernesto Licea Mojena, noted the active participation of the community in tasks such as: pruning trees, cleaning ditches and disburstruction of sewers, all aimed at reducing risks and vulnerabilities in both state centers and neighborhoods.

An ammonia exhaust drill was carried out at the Milk Combination where the workers' response capacity for a timely and orderly evacuation was verified.

Walter Simón Noris, president of the Provincial Defense Council in Camagüey, highlighted the protection of human lives as the main stronghold of Civil Defense in Cuba, and called on command structures and the population to strengthen unity to prevent and mitigate possible damage to situations of danger.

With the willingness to support in disaster situations, the littermen of Camagüey people undertook during the Meteoro work that included the change of damaged transformers, damage solutions and tree pruning in the vicinity of the cyclonic season.
