Havana, May 25th. - The president of the National Assembly of People's Power (parliament) of Cuba, Esteban Lazo, urged directors of the Ministry of Industries (Mindus) to strengthen indicators of national production in this sector.
During a meeting with permanent working committees in parliament, Lazo assessed the need to continue increasing manufacturing efficiency rates, import substitution and increasing the lines of Cuban industry.
He also called for diversifying goods and services that directly benefit the broad social sectors, according to social policies, and the government program to correct distortions and boost the economy, the television news said.
The head of the Mindus, Eloy Álvarez, detailed the system of work of that body to comply with the recommendations of the legislature, whose permanent commissions follow up on its agreements, the source said.
