Cuban Foreign Affairs Minister receives Chinese representative for Latin America


Havana, June 3rd.- Cuban Foreign Affairs Minister Bruno Rodríguez considered the exchange he held today with China's Special Representative for Latin American Affairs, Qiu Xiaoqi, to be beneficial.

"I had a fruitful meeting with Ambassador Qiu Xiaoqi, China's Special Representative for Latin American Affairs," the Cuban Foreign Minister announced via the social network X.

According to the platform, Xiaoqi is on a working visit to the Caribbean nation, which "is part of the consensus reached between the presidents of both countries for the development of a Cuba-China Community of Shared Future."

Last May, during a visit to Beijing, Rodríguez emphasized that the Cuba-China relationship is of a special nature with strategic scope and reiterated his gratitude to the Asian giant for its support for the island's socioeconomic development.

He also recalled in a statement to Prensa Latina that this year both countries celebrate the 65th anniversary of diplomatic ties, characterized by deep mutual political trust and significant exchanges between their respective Communist Parties, governments, and organizations.

The foreign minister traveled to the Asian giant to participate in the 4th Ministerial Meeting of the China-CELAC Forum (Community of Latin American and Caribbean States). (Text and Photo: Cubasí)
