Cuba reaches fourth place in IT Olympics held in Russia


Russia, Jun 6th. - Cuba won fourth place at the International Computer Technology Olympiad, held in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, according to the Cuban Computer Union on its Facebook page.

At this event, the Union of Informatics of Cuba was part of the organizing committee, in collaboration with the Russian region of Nizhny Novgorod and the SBER Corporation.

Omar Correa Madrigal, vice president of the UIC, explained to Granma, the Major of the Antilles participated with 150 students in the individual classification round of the event, dedicated to topics such as information technologies, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, in which 20 countries and 2 700 competitors converged.

This first edition of the IT Olympics took place from the Cuban-Russian collaboration, with the extension to all Brics countries. (Text and Photo: Cubadebate)
