Havana, June 9 – Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez asserted today that the United States government intends to silence raised voices in that country against the genocide committed by Israel on Palestinian soil.
According to a publication by the Foreign Minister in X, “by suppressing visas for foreign students at prestigious American universities, the #US government intends to forcibly silence voices within that same country denouncing US complicity in Israel's genocide in #Gaza.”
“The truth will never be silenced,” the head of the ministry emphasized.
As part of the Donald Trump administration's offensive against immigration, the State Department recently instructed U.S. embassies and consulates around the world to halt new student visa appointments.
According to the provision, the issuance of these visas will be paused while work is being done on a guide to extend "social media assessment and verification" of all applicants for that permit, the government agency said.
The previous one is part of another move by the Trump administration to hinder the purpose of thousands of international students from enrolling at U.S. universities. (Source: Prensa Latina)
