The book Che in the Memory, written by Cuban authors, is presented in Chile.

Havana, June 11 – Ernesto Guevara's life, from his childhood and youth, to his travels throughout Latin America and his relationship with Cuba, are captured today in the book "Che in the Memory," by Froilán González and Adys Cupull, presented in Chile.

Both authors have extensive work on the Argentine-Cuban revolutionary, and among their best-known titles are "The CIA Against Che," "From Ñancahuazú to the Higuera," and "The Assassination of Che in Bolivia: Revelations."

In a meeting last night at the Cafebrería in the Ñuñoa neighborhood of the capital, González explained that this new text is a compilation of three books already out of print in Cuba.

The first is Unfinished Song, which captures the childhood, adolescence and youth of Ernesto Guevara through the memories of his family; and the second, "Warm presence," depicts his relationship with a close friend, Tita Infante, about whom a play was made.

Meanwhile, the third chapter is "Che among us," about the impressions of young Cubans who knew him in different facets of his life.

Froilán González stated that Chile has always had an important place in his research and recalled that Che's Diary in Bolivia was published in this country after a Bolivian gave it to colleagues at Punto Final magazine.

He noted that survivors of the guerrilla and Che's hands also passed through here.

In response to a question from Prensa Latina, the writer referred to the years they worked as consuls general in Bolivia in the 1980s.

There they were able to investigate details about the burial sites of Che's guerrilla members and about the 13 pages of his diary that had been lost.

The launch of the new title here is a tribute to the 97th anniversary of the Heroic Guerrilla's birth, on June 14.

During the presentation, Cris González, the cover designer, considered it a privilege to have Froilán's presence. He and his wife have written numerous works, not only about Che Guevara, but also about José Martí, Julio Antonio Mella, Tina Modotti, and other personalities. (PL) (Photo: Taken from the Internet)
