Havana, June 12 – Medicuba Spain and the Seville association Unidos Infinity collaborated to send 22 packages of medical supplies to Cuba.
The shipment was managed through non-governmental cooperation channels and will be distributed to Cuban health centers, where medical personnel face the daily challenge of saving lives despite the limitations imposed by Washington. It is a new gesture of solidarity in the face of the US blockade.
Regularly and under the auspices of the State Movement of Solidarity with Cuba (MESC, for its acronym in Spanish), dozens of associations in Spain work year-round to collect funds or supplies to help the largest of the Antilles alleviate its economic crisis, fueled by the tight US siege.
On the other hand, the José Martí Valencian Friendship Association, Euskadi Cuba, and the Ernesto Guevara Solidarity and Cooperation Association of Torrejón de Ardoz organized a solidarity trip to exchange about the health reality of the country.
This initiative reaffirms that, while the U.S. government persists in its failed policy, global solidarity continues to weave alternatives to defend Cuba's right to health and sovereignty.
The brigade, made up of healthcare professionals, has the support of the union organizations Comisiones Obreras, Intersindical, Salut, and LAB, and will participate on the island in activities organized by the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples.
