Ho Chi Minh's contribution to revolutionary journalism exalted in Cuba


Havana, Jun 21st. - Regarding the centenary of the revolutionary press in Vietnam, to be celebrated today, professionals from the Cuba sector weigh the legacy of President Ho Chi Minh in the development of a journalism linked to Marxism-Leninism and adapted to the national context.

Norland Rosendo González, general director of the Cuban News Agency (ACN), said that in its anti-colonial and anti-imperialist struggle, Vietnam has had a press that is reference for the just causes of the world.

In an interview with the Vietnamese News Agency (VNA), the director stressed that the revolutionary press in that Indo-Chinese nation is characterized by its attachment to the people, the truth and the Communist Party, as well as for its ethical and professional rigor.

On Ho Chi Minh's journalistic legacy (1890-1969), Rosendo Gonzalez stated that his thousands of articles served to build the unity of the revolutionary forces, identify common goals and project a future scenario for Vietnam.

Uncle Ho always had a clear and profound conception of the role of the revolutionary press as an instrument for communicating ideas and strengthening the articulations with the people, the Cuban journalist said.

He also highlighted the beauty in the way he wrote and the elegance of his texts, which connected ideas with feelings.

The director general of the ACN recommended studying Ho Chi Minh's journalistic work, not only in Vietnam, but in all schools of Journalism that bet on a revolutionary exercise of the profession.

In this regard, he stressed the ability to maintain the balance between ideological depth and communicative codes connecting with audiences.

Rosendo González said the VNA is one of the key media organizations in Vietnam's public media system, with a key role in countering international disinformation about socialist experiences.

He revealed that the ACN, currently in a process of editorial and technological strengthening, seeks to raise cooperation with VNA to a higher level, through an agreement that allows the sharing of experiences and resources and the application of successful Vietnamese models.

According to the director, both agencies share the commitment to the truth, the denunciation of imperialism and the promotion of communist ideas, in the face of the hegemonic aggressiveness of great capital.
