Moscow, June 23 – Tehran has warned Washington of carrying out military operations that will have grave, regrettable, and unpredictable consequences in response to the recent US attack on Iran's nuclear infrastructure.
"In response to this crime, powerful and targeted operations will be carried out that will inflict grave, regrettable, and unpredictable consequences," a spokesperson for Persian nation's Central Military Command said Monday.
The military official stated that the US violated the Islamic Republic's sovereignty by joining Israel's offensive and invading Iran's holy territory, stressing that the scope of legitimate and diverse targets for Tehran's response has now expanded.
"[The attack] was not only futile, but will also expand the scope of legitimate and diverse targets for the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran and lay the groundwork for the expansion of the war in the region," he emphasized.
He also addressed US President Donald Trump, whom he called a "gambler." "Gambling Trump, you can start this war, but we will finish it," he concluded.
Since the early hours of June 13, when Israel launched an unprovoked attack on Iran, the two nations have continued to exchange missile and drone attacks.
The US president announced on the evening of June 21 that his country's Air Force had completed a "successful strike" against three nuclear facilities in Iran: Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan.
For its part, Tehran reiterated its legitimate right to defend itself against the blatant aggression of the US and its Israeli proxy. "The timing, nature, and scale of Iran's proportionate response will be decided by its armed forces," said Iran's Permanent Representative to the UN, Amir Saeid Iravani.
Numerous countries around the world have harshly criticized the Israeli operation against Iran. Since the start of hostilities, Moscow has repeatedly condemned Israeli actions and warned of their terrifying consequences.
