Sub-series decider against Las Tunas in U-23 Baseball

Camagüey, July 1 – Losses in five of the last six games of the qualifying phase of the U-23 National Baseball Tournament have complicated the progress of the Toros from this province to the next round of the tournament.

The Camagüey team, placed in Group C of the Championship after a positive streak that saw them consecutively sweep the Ciego de Ávila and Las Tunas teams, were subsequently neutralized by Sancti Spíritus and Ciego de Ávila, to the point that their permanence in the tournament is currently in doubt.

Between Tuesday and Thursday, the Toros from Camagüey play at the Julio Antonio Mella Stadium in Las Tunas, in a sub-series that is almost life-or-death.

An adverse result would mean they would be eliminated from the competition.

Given the current situation of the leaderboard, they need to win at least two matches against the Easterners. This way, by finishing tied, they would achieve their goal of securing one of the two tickets that gives the key to the subsequent phase.

In the other match, Ciego de Ávila and the Sancti Spiritus teams will be measured, who have the ballots to remain in this tournament, especially since their current opponents haven't had a good event and are already completely eliminated.
