Shanghai opens the doors to the world's largest Legoland

Thousands of people attended the opening ceremony of the new Legoland park in the Chinese city of Shanghai. The resort is the first of its kind in the Asian country. It is one of 11 parks worldwide and was built with 85 million Lego bricks.

A 250-room hotel has been built for visitors, decorated with more than 85 million Lego pieces.

According to authorities' forecasts, the park will receive up to 2.4 million visitors per year, and on peak days, up to 8,000 visitors are expected each day. To accommodate tourists, approximately 5,200 hotel rooms have been prepared in the surrounding area. (Text and Photo: Cubadebate)
