Camagüey, July 22 – Camagüey residents gave a resounding display of support for the Revolution this Tuesday during the municipal act commemorating the 72nd anniversary of the assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks.
At the event, which was attended by the highest political and governmental authorities of the province and the City of Tinajones (Earthenware jars), several distinguished men and women who have excelled in their duties received their membership cards accrediting them as members of the Communist Party of Cuba and the Union of Young Communists.
Speaking on behalf of the new generations, Dr. Elizabeth Horta Rivero, professor at the University of Medical Sciences, reaffirmed the commitment of the inhabitants of the land of El Mayor to work to preserve the achievements of the Revolution.
The meeting was an auspicious setting for a large group of political and mass organizations, as well as entities and agencies, to be stimulated by their efforts to face limitations and move forward for the benefit of the people.
Another important moment was the delivery of a recognition to the Administrative District Julio Antonio Mella for being the winner of the headquarters of the festivities for the anniversary of the Moncada -which took place in the Casino Campestre-, while the municipality was among the leading territories in the province.
The conclusions were presented by Yoandrys Ruiz Villalón, the First Secretary of the Party in the city of Camagüey, who reaffirmed the commitment of the people of Camagüey to strive each day to perfect socialism. (Text and photos: Rodolfo Medina Hechavarría/Radio Camagüey)
