Battle against noise pollution

It is urgent to reduce noise pollution to permissible levels, as it harms everyone equally, whether in the neighborhood, on public roads, or in workplaces, where discretion is lacking in regard to not emitting strange sounds that are harmful to the ears and central nervous system.

On the subject, we could well make a treaty with multiple edges and several central axes, with more or less predominance of the horns of trucks, cars, bike taxi baffles and motorcycles that scandalously spread the noise throughout cities.

I can't imagine what would happen if one day, a passenger took one of these alternative means of transportation and asked the driver to lower the volume or turn off the music, with unpleasant and disrespectful lyrics and off-key singers.

The most sensible thing would be to please customers and contribute to Camagüey's efforts to address its excessive noise pollution.

Put your hand on your chest and judge for yourself, from the beginning of San Ramón Street, from the grounds of the El Surco tobacco factory, where you have to interrupt the conversation. The same thing happens in the central Cisneros street or Avenida de La Libertad.

Reasons? Motorcicles without mufflers and at speeds as if they were around a field and track.

Regarding what has been mentioned so far, all of this is described in regulations, decrees, and decree-laws that call for order and discipline. However, it is essential that each of the parties involved confront the phenomenon and do so without excess or trembling hands, under the Fidel’s maxim: neither tolerant nor implacable.

Several lovers of just peace complain that in their neighborhoods, at any hour, late at night or early in the morning, motorcycles and other vehicles break the tranquility of sleep with a thunderous "musical" bang. Afterward, it is difficult to fall asleep and close one's eyes again.

Each party must take action to ensure that noise pollution does not seriously affect the human body like an invisible enemy. It's time to react and take measures seriously, as it happens in other countries. (Text: Enrique Atiénzar Rivero/Radio Cadena Agramonte contributor) (Photo: Internet)
