Camagüey's water workers honored on their day (+ Photos)


Camagüey, 10 Aug.- With the tribute to the Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, principal promoter of the hydraulic will in Cuba, the workers of the sector in Camagüey celebrated this Friday the provincial act on the occasion of the date that identifies them, instituted on August 10, 1962.

In the presence of government authorities, the Cuban Workers' Union in the region, and representatives of the different entities that make up the union, Michel Leyva Ávila, delegate to this instance in the territory, read the statement of the President of the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources and the General Secretary of the National Union of Construction Workers, on the occasion of the 63rd anniversary of the creation of the institute.

At the celebration, the Armando Mestre Martínez Distinction was presented to men and women with more than 20 and 25 years of uninterrupted service in the sector and active participation on all fronts. Recognition was also given to those who stood out and demonstrated commitment, dedication, and dedication to each task.

During the event, executives dedicated to the work and development of hydraulic activities, with the ability to establish priorities, organize work, unite forces, demand discipline, and educate by example, received hospitality. It was also an opportune space to praise the work of entities in the sector with relevant work.

The Hydraulic Works Maintenance and Rehabilitation Company hosted the Hydraulic Workers' Day celebration in Camagüey, based on the comprehensive results of its operations.

Michel Leyva Ávila, Delegate for Hydraulic Resources, also emphasized that they are reaching this date with the implementation of important actions within the investment program aimed at rehabilitating networks and pipelines, but with a commitment to further efforts to improve the water supply to the city of Camagüey, a service where today there is still much dissatisfaction among the population.
