More than four decades of history and commitment Siempre en Juventud

Camagüey, August 13.- More than forty years ago, a program was born on the airwaves of this city that would eventually become a symbol of Camagüey's youth: the radio program Siempre en Juventud. This year, the station celebrated the 47th anniversary of a program that has also known how to highlight the legacy of the eternal Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz. Today, the 99th birthday of this distinguished leader of the Cuban Revolution, will be no exception, at a time when history and commitment to new generations are intertwined.

Since its inception, Siempre en Juventud has distinguished itself as a constant voice that reflects the interests, concerns, and dreams of the province's youth. But what is the key to a radio program remaining relevant for more than four decades? The answer, according to those who have been part of its history, lies in the dedication and vision of its professionals, who understood that creating a space for young people is, in essence, betting on the future.

Over the years, the team behind the program has faced multiple challenges, from streamlining each broadcast to capture the attention of an ever-changing audience to staying in tune with the thoughts, tastes, and concerns of young people. But above all, they have worked with the conviction that radio can be a powerful tool for educating and training conscious citizens committed to their reality.

One of the current protagonists of this story is Derbys González Álvarez, who directs the program. He enthusiastically shares that ever since he heard the voice of Sandra Martínez, who was the program's host, he knew he wanted to be part of this collective. For him, Siempre en Juventud not only provides entertainment, but also a platform where art can be created from a youthful perspective, with a passion for connecting with peers.

For her part, Sandra Martínez, who was also part of the team at one time, points out that providing voiceover work for this program represents a constant challenge. She explains that beyond maintaining a fresh and youthful tone, it is vital that those who host the program be young in spirit, thought, and commitment, so that the voice of this program remains authentic and close to its audience.

Today, the program faces new challenges: marching to the beat of young people in Camagüey, capturing their concerns, and continuing to be their mirror and voice. Because, as its protagonists rightly say, Siempre en Juventud has not only been a radio program, but a living testimony of the commitment of generations to the history, education, and future of Cuba.
