Havana, August 14.- As part of the celebrations for the centennial of Fidel Castro's birth (1926-2016), the Verde Olivo Publishing House launched the photography contest "A Moment with Fidel", also commemorating the Commander in Chief's 99th birthday on August 13.
With the goal of recovering and sharing images that reflect the relationship, tribute, and legacy of the Commander in Chief, the call is open to the entire Cuban population and active or retired personnel of the Revolutionary Armed Forces.
According to the contest rules, participants may submit up to three original digital photos (JPG or PNG), without watermarks or other details that affect the quality or visibility of the images. They must also be accompanied by a brief description or text (maximum 150 words).
Entries and photo proposals will be received through Verde Olivo's official email addresses: pvolivo@unicom.co.cu and digitalverdeolivo@gmail.com.
The reception will conclude on August 13, 2026, with a first selection of 50 photographs for an exhibition at the XXXIV Havana International Book Fair, scheduled to take place from February 12 to 22 of next year.
For the grand finale, a jury specializing in photography and historical memory will select one hundred winning photographs, which will be exhibited in a special exhibition organized by Verde Olivo Publishing House.
Participating photographs may be used by the Publishing House for exhibitions, publications, and contest promotion, for non-commercial purposes, always respecting the authorship and corresponding permissions for the publication of the images. (Source: ACN)
