New technologies revitalize the Nuevo Mundo Audiovisual Complex


Camagüey, September 1st.-With the integration of computer technologies and communications is revitalized in this city the Nuevo Mundo Audiovisual Complex, one of the emblematic spaces of the central Street of Cinemas.

Juan Antonio García Borrero, writer and film critic, is leading the initiative that unveiled this Sunday a life-size image of the animated character Elpidio Valdés, which includes a QR code that allows access to Juan Padrón's filmography along with other information of interest.

Passersby can also enjoy a sample of Cuban film posters, registered with the UNESCO Memory of the World Program, which, through the use of augmented reality, offers a variety of information on Cuban and foreign films relevant to the history of the seventh art.

Through the joint work of economic stakeholders, cultural institutions, and Cuban civil society organizations, the Nuevo Mundo Audiovisual Complex is reviving, offering services such as a cinema library, café, screening room, and gallery, among others.

The reopening served to dialogue of the efforts that from the audiovisual culture are made in the Street of Cinemas in Camagüey City to contribute to the digital transformation of society, a necessary future that requires creative employment by people of new technologies.
