Camagüey, September 8. - The province of Camagüey hosted the 48th anniversary celebration of the creation of the National Union of Cultural Workers (SNTC, for its acronym in Spanish) this Sunday with a cultural gala at the Teatro Principal. The event recognized the results achieved in the socialist emulation of Culture in Revolution.
Among the authorities present were Walter Simón Noris, First Secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba in Camagüey, along with other leaders of the Party, the government, and the Cuban Workers' Union (CTC, for its acronym in Spanish). The CTC 22nd Congress Plaque was presented to the union for its work representing artists, communicators, workers at cultural institutions, and the Promotions and Events Company.
The province received the National Vanguard category in recognition of the work of its grassroots union structures, and more than 25 labor groups earned the status of National Distinguished. In addition, 16 outstanding workers were awarded the "Raúl Gómez García" Distinction for more than two decades of dedication to the sector, and a dozen institutions received the SNTC 48th Anniversary Seal.
Guantánamo and Holguín were also recognized as outstanding in the national emulation for their work in promoting and defending the nation's cultural values.
In this context, Katia Rodríguez Ramos, Secretary General of the SNTC, emphasized that "culture is an indispensable instrument for social development, education, and the dignity of our people." She also congratulated the groups and professionals who, with creativity and commitment, maintain cultural activity in every corner of the country.
The celebration featured an outstanding display of regional artistic talent, which enhanced the tribute and highlighted the area's artistic wealth.
The Provincial Government of Camagüey presented special recognitions to the most outstanding groups, in a context of strengthening the province as a leader in the defense and promotion of revolutionary culture. This achievement reflects the daily efforts of artists, intellectuals, communicators, and cultural workers who, with their talent and dedication, promote the comprehensive development of the region and strengthen the national identity.
