Havana, Sept. 24 – The conference “From Shadow to Sun: The Weather and the Political Imprisonment of José Martí,” presented by Professor Luis Enrique Ramos Guadalupe, National Meteorology Award winner, will continue this Thursday the event I Am a Sincere Man: Perspectives on the Legacy of the National Hero José Martí, which began in January of this year at the Economic Society of Friends of the Country (SEAP, for its acronym in Spanish).
This meeting, held on the occasion of the 130th anniversary of the Maestro’s death in combat, aims to analyze Martí’s legacy through the study of, among other topics, moments of his life and work, as well as his lessons and teachings, which remain unquestionably relevant in the contemporary world.
Throughout 2025, conferences and other activities have been taking place at this venue in Havana, organized by SEAP and its Culture and Social Sciences Sections, with the co-sponsorship of the Martí Studies Center and the Martí Chair of the University of Havana, highlights the press release.
All interested people may attend the conference with free admission at 10:00 a.m. at the headquarters of the Economic Society, located at 710 Salvador Allende Avenue. (Text and photo: Radio Enciclopedia)
