Camagüey, October 17- The Provincial Center of Hygiene, Epidemiology, and Microbiology (CPHEM, for its acronym in Spanish) of Camagüey has been awarded the distinction of "Moral Collective" in recognition of its exemplary work in the health sector. This honor reflects their strong commitment to excellence in the services they provide, as well as their teaching and research activities, reaffirming their fundamental role in promoting the health and well-being of the community.

The award ceremony was attended by important institutional representatives, including Yuneisys Ramos Vázquez, member of the Provincial Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC, for its acronym in Spanish) for the Health sector; Dr. Carlos Morán Giraldo, General Director of Health; Dr. Henry Puente Rodríguez, PCC official; and Lic. Liuba Ávila Baute, member of the Provincial Committee of the Health Workers’ Union.

In this context, the distinction was received by the CPHEM director, Dr. Iluminada Menéndez Placeres, and Aime Colunga Rojas, secretary of the Union Bureau at the center. Both expressed gratitude for the recognition and highlighted that this achievement is the result of the constant dedication of the team, who strive daily to offer quality services to the population.

Liliana Gómez López, CPHEM’s communicator, pointed out that the Moral Collective movement has become a valuable political and social tool aimed at educating and strengthening the motivation of health personnel. She added that its fundamental role is to promote a culture of commitment and responsibility in health care, fostering a work environment where ethical values and a service vocation prevail.

Despite progress and recognitions, much remains to be done to strengthen the sector. The commitment of all the center’s members continues to be the main driving force to overcome obstacles and keep raising the standards of care and service to the community.
