Camagüey, November 5 - The news is encouraging: starting this Thursday, the Vigía Branch of the Popular Savings Bank, located on Avenida de los Mártires and Rotario, will have a system of 18 photovoltaic panels installed. This system will allow the bank to maintain service to its customers despite power outages from the National Electrical System.
Since last Friday, the assembly of the structure and other operations involved in the investment, carried out by the Irmantto MSME, made up of 18 members, including six electrical engineers and the rest, a civil engineer, a mechanic worker, mid-level technicians and assemblers, have begun.
The group is linked to the Chinese Picla Project, the main supplier of the photovoltaic systems, according to its head, electrical engineer Frank Álvarez González, who specified that the installation is capable of withstanding winds of up to 200 kilometers per hour.
The local government's decision for it to be the first branch equipped with such a system was a wise idea, aimed at avoiding disruptions in accessing the center when it lacks electricity—one of the major complaints from the population.
