Housing Program in Camagüey Behind Schedule

Camagüey, Nov 24.- The construction of housing in the provincial capital municipality is significantly behind schedule this year, as only 31 properties were completed by the end of October, representing just 25% of the target.

During an evaluation of this issue at the Camagüey Provincial Administration Council, it was specified that all programs have been affected, namely the state program, the self-build program, and the Basic Housing Cells (Células Básicas Habitacionales - CBH).

It was reported at the meeting that there are currently seven houses in the final stages of completion for November and December, being handled by the Forestry Enterprise, Construction and Assembly, and the Industry of Construction Materials of the People's Power.

The main deficiencies affecting the housing construction plan in the Camagüey capital are the deficit of resources from the national allocation, delays, and a lack of initiative in utilizing local products. (Text: Rodolfo Medina Hechavarría/Radio Camagüey) (Photo: ACN)
