Yoesdrey Ascuy Pérez, director of the local entity, specified to Radio Nuevitas that they exceeded the collection of plastic, glass containers, non-ferrous products (copper, bronze and aluminum) - destined for export - and stainless steel, at 194, 126, 121, 101 percent, in that order.

He also highlighted the connection between the Nuevitas Raw Materials Business Unit (UEBR, for its acronym in Spanish) and the education sector through Pioneers Festivals in schools, and their outreach to neighborhoods to collect with the families the reusable items.

Other results that distinguish the local collective are the good condition and preservation of transportation equipment, as well as compliance and quality of reporting.

Regarding the observance of Resolution 1288—which governs the agreement with enterprises—the executive noted that compliance reached 96%.

As an interesting fact, Ascuy Pérez pointed out that every month, purchases from the population exceed one million pesos, and the main clients are elderly people.
