Florida, Camagüey, Dec 6.- Keini Riverón Reyes is a 29-year-old young man who has become a reference in Urban, Suburban, and Family Agriculture in La Vallita community, where he manages the organoponic of the Antonio Briones Montoto Agricultural Production Cooperative (CPA, for its acronym in Spanish).

Since he began his involvement in the field at 18 years old, Keini, with unwavering dedication, has achieved outstanding results in his productions.

Currently, Keini has a shade house in production and is in the process of increasing his capacity with new facilities, which will allow him to further diversify his agricultural offerings. His link with the Urban, Suburban, and Family Agriculture program two years ago was fundamental for his development, as it provided him with valuable tools and knowledge to improve his crops.

The young producer acquires his seeds from local MSMEs, which allows him to work with hybrid crops that offer significant advantages in terms of resistance and yield. "I feel confident mastering the agronomic part," affirms Keini, who has known how to adapt to the lack of some traditional seeds that used to be available in the country.

Jorge Díaz Pérez, president of the CCS Antonio Briones Montoto, highlights the impact of Keini's work on the community by explaining that "Today he has several productions and has developed effective strategies for planting his crops, despite having a limited extension of land." This ability to optimize resources has allowed Keini to obtain profits and contribute to local economic development.

The advice Keini offers to other producers is clear: "You shouldn't give up. Each day brings new challenges, but also new opportunities." His experience is a testament to the ingenuity and perseverance that characterize young farmers today.

The story of Keini Riverón Reyes is an inspiring example of how youth can transform the agricultural sphere.

With his passion for the field and his commitment to urban agriculture, he is sowing a more promising future for La Vallita and demonstrating that with effort and dedication, dreams can come true. (Text and photos: Radio Florida)
