San Salvador, Dec. 8 – Salvadoran organizations expressed their solidarity with Cuba and demanded an end to the U.S. blockade of the island.
The sixth national meeting of the July 26 Friends Group, a camp in Cuban territory that served as a center for the care of war veterans with disabilities, and members of the Farabundo Martí National Liberation Front, expressed their gratitude for the medical care they received.
According to activist Raúl Martínez, it was a reunion of friendship and brotherhood in which nearly 200 people from various departments of the country gathered in Usulután to express their solidarity with the people and government of Cuba.
As a demonstration of this solidarity, funds were raised to address some of the needs of the Cuban people facing the U.S. blockade, the end of which was a central demand of the event. (Text and photo: PL)
