Social Work remained firm in Florida in 2025

Florida, Camagüey, Dec 27.- Throughout 2025, the municipality of Florida upheld a significant group of policies for prevention, assistance, and social work aimed at preserving the rights of individuals and families in vulnerable situations.

As a result, over 1,150 households with extreme economic needs received direct state protection in the form of monetary and service benefits, along with the delivery of essential resources, including food, sheets, towels, beds, mattresses, and footwear.

Among the beneficiaries of social assistance in Florida during the closing period are orphaned children and others whose parents are serving judicial sentences in prison, lonely elderly individuals, people with disabilities, Revolution combatants, and mothers registered in the demographic dynamics, among others.

The commitment to treating others as human beings, as stated in the political testament of Fidel Castro Ruz, was also confirmed in the more than 600 residents of Florida who joined the System of Attention to Families; the offer of dignified employment to citizens without work ties, alongside the execution of transformation actions in different popular councils and neighborhoods of the territory.

For the upcoming year, professionals and activists tasked with guiding the work of Prevention and Social Assistance within the Municipal Directorate of Labor in Florida face challenges to overcome. These include reaching every home where narrowness and chronic hardship are hidden, completing the staff of social workers, and upholding the highest standards of human solidarity and the altruistic spirit of the Revolution.
