Florida, Camagüey, Dec 31.- With 22 years of dedication in the classroom, Idenia Quiñones Peláez, general coordinator of the Enrique José Varona primary school, embodies the purest teaching vocation.
Recently honored with the distinction Guía Preparador de Sueños (Guide Preparer of Dreams) by the José Martí Pioneers Organization, she defines this recognition as a source of great pride that she shares with her family and those who support her.
For Idenia, the school does not exist without the children, and their joy is the engine that justifies her dedication; with absolute clarity, she affirms that a teacher's constant professional improvement is fundamental to being a role model for students and a multiplier of knowledge for the entire surrounding community.
At the close of another year of work, Idenia Quiñones does not forget those she considers her other family: her school's staff.
Through a heartfelt message, she wishes them health and love for the upcoming year 2026, revealing the profile of an educator whose work is measured by the mark she leaves on the dreams of her pioneers. (Text and photo: Luis Ortiz Chaviano/Radio Florida)
