
Camagüey, Jan 9. - Most of the injured from the mass accident that occurred at kilometer 595 of the Central Highway, which injured 38 passengers, are being treated at the Manuel AscunceDomenech Provincial Hospital in the City of the Tinajones (Earthenware Jars).
Dr. Rodolfo E. DomínguezRosabal, director of the health institution, emphasized that 23 patients with injuries not life-threatening have been medically discharged. The two most complex cases involve severe traumatic brain injuries, hence the reserved prognosis for both.
Medical personnel continue to evaluate eight people reported as under care, some of whom underwent surgery for orthopedic injuries.
In serious condition is Leonardo Frometa Batista, 28 years old, from the municipality of CalixtoGarcía, belonging to Holguín province. Meanwhile, JosvannyLópez Vidal, 51 years old, a resident of the Mariel municipality in Artemisa province, is reported as critical.
