Camagüey, Jan. 14. - On January 5, the 2026 Tax Declaration and Payment Campaign began across the country, as established by State Budget Law 181. The National Tax Administration Office (ONAT, for its acronym in Spanish) reminds taxpayers of the importance of fulfilling their tax obligations within the stipulated deadlines.
For individuals, the period for paying personal income tax extends from January 5 to April 30. Legal entities, on the other hand, have a shorter deadline and must make their payments by March 31.
It is important to note that partners of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), as well as those in the agricultural sector, must also comply with the April 30 deadline.
As an incentive to promote compliance, ONAT has established benefits for taxpayers who make early payments. Those who fulfill their tax obligation before February 28 will receive a 5% bonus. Additionally, if they choose to make their payment through digital gateways, they can access an additional 3% bonus.
Osvaldo Fernández Rodríguez, deputy director of the Provincial Tax Administration Office (ONAT, for its acronym in Spanish) in Camagüey, explained the details of the process to Camagüey Television, specifically for those who miss the established deadlines.
The ONAT urges all taxpayers to take advantage of these benefits and fulfill their tax obligations, thus contributing to the country's economic development. (Source: Camagüey Television)
