Camagüey, Jan 16.- As is now tradition, the people of Camagüey expressed their commitment to the Revolution and Socialism by paying a well-deserved tribute to the 32 brothers who fell heroically in Venezuela, defending the just Bolivarian cause against imperialist aggression.
The First Secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Walter Simón Noris, stated that the response from the people of Camagüey could be nothing less than to pay this deserved tribute to those who, dressed in the olive green of the Sierra Maestra, upheld the name of the homeland of José Martí and Fidel Castro.

With deep respect and sorrow, the people participated in the posthumous homage with a massive representation of workers, students, combatants of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, the Ministry of the Interior, and all the people in the tribute, a demonstration of the unity, steadfastness, and solidarity that characterizes the women and men of the land of El Mayor.
An example of this attitude was evident in Yohandry Varona Torres, a combatant of the Personal Security Corps, who confronted the aggression on Venezuelan soil in fulfillment of the sacred internationalist duty.

With deep emotion, Varona Torres, who has 23 years of experience in his mission, recounted the events of the early morning of January 3, 2026, after facing the uneven combat; he also participated in the tasks to safely transport the bodies of the fallen brothers.
In the face of such heroism, the people of Camagüey stood in continuous, block formation by trade unions; they express honor and glory for the island's combatants who once again made real the vision of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz that internationalism is paying our own debt to humanity.

More than 100,000 people from Camagüey demonstrate their recognition of these soldiers of the homeland who, with their attitude, upheld Cuba's honor in a permanent tribute, which will culminate with the honor guard in the Nicolás Guillén Batista Protocol Hall led by the highest political and governmental authorities of the province, the Revolutionary Armed Forces, the Ministry of the Interior, and the people.
In the 13 municipalities of Camagüey, ceremonies will be held in honor and glory of those who fell in Bolivarian lands at 4:00 in the afternoon. (Text and photos: Newsroom of Radio Cadena Agramonte)
