Díaz-Canelreveals conversation with acting president of Venezuela


Havana, Jan 22. - Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel revealed today in this capital that he held a telephone conversation with the acting president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez.

The Cuban head of state, on his X social media account, reiterated Cuba's position regarding the events in Venezuela last January 3rd: "I reiterated our strong condemnation of the military aggression by #USA and the kidnapping of Constitutional President NicolásMaduro and comrade Cilia Flores."

In the telephone conversation with the current acting president, Díaz-Canel reiterated to her the position that the largest of the Antilles has always maintained: support and solidarity with the Homeland of Bolívar and Chávez, its people, and the Bolivarian government.

Similarly, the Cuban leader, in his post today on the social network, confirmed the decision to continue strengthening the historic fraternal relations and cooperation. Since January 3rd, when the US military aggression against Venezuela occurred, where 32 Cubans gave their lives fighting in defense of President NicolásMaduro and the Homeland of Simón Bolívar, this is the first public contact between the highest authorities of the Cuban and Venezuelan governments.
