Strategies outlined in the transportation system

Camagüey, Feb 16.- The new restrictive measures caused by the drastic loss of markets to acquire fuel forced the adoption of readjustments within the transportation system in the province.

Yailí Leal Guzmeli, provincial director of this body, referred to the readjustments of routes and schedules in the movement of buses for the urban service of the city of Camagüey.

This updated schedule provides for the following work scheme:

Route 2 (Origin: Villa Mariana, 6:00 and 6:02 am and 1:10 pm); Route 6 (5:50 am and 2:30 pm); Route 14 (6:10 am and 2:00 pm); Route 19 (5:55 am and 1:00 pm); Route 25 (Los Coquitos, 6:22 am; departure from El Casino, 6:53 am and 4:00 pm).

In addition, routes 30 (6:25 am and 12:30 pm); 32 (6:40 am and 12:40 pm) and 36 (6:45 am and 4:00 pm) will run.

The director specified that, in the case of the Medibus, it will now maintain variable frequencies, with departures exclusively on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Regarding cargo vehicles, coordination is established daily together with the entities of Commerce, the Food Industry, and the Wholesale Food Products Company to guarantee the supply and distribution of goods for high-priority sectors.

Notwithstanding the current dynamics, the transport of healthcare workers to Najasa, Minas, Sierra de Cubitas, Nuevitas, and Jimaguayú is maintained, in addition to contributing to the transport of pregnant women.

Transportation for funeral processes in all municipalities is also not neglected, due to its social impact.

Yosvani Aguilar Morales, director of the National Bus Company in Camagüey, reported that the connection with Havana is reduced to one daily departure (8:00 at night), with a return at 10:00 am the following day.

In the case of the national trains that run through the territory, their frequency changes from four to eight days, and alternatives have been sought to benefit residents in the other Camagüey demarcations with capacities.

Taxi Cuba maintains its routes (two in total) with its ten Fotón microbuses, while with electric tricycles it benefits the northern area of the Camagüey city and La Yaba neighborhood, specified Rafael Ramos, the main executive of the entity.
