Women of Camaguey essential in the fight against the pandemic

Camagüey, Mar 8.- "Women have dignified the Revolution and have taken it to the highest positions that any process at this time has reached," said Fidel during a special intervention for International Women's Day in 2005.

With the commitment to preserve the revolutionary work, more than 300 women from Camagüey belonging to health personnel participate today in the fight against the pandemic from the Octavio de la Concepción y de la Pedraja Military Hospital, thus honoring the vision of the historical leader on the decisive role of women in any task, no matter how arduous it may be.

From the ranks of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC), they assume the complex challenges and sacrifices that this mission requires with the certainty of knowing themselves worthy heirs of the historical legacy of the patriot Ana Betancourt, the passion and courage of Amalia Simoni and the fighting spirit of Vilma Espín. (Photos: Humberto Cid)
