Camagüey, 66th Anniversary of the Freedom Caravan, victory of the Cuban Revolution

Camagüey celebrates the 66th Anniversary of the Freedom Caravan.


 

For the people of Camagüey, the entry of the Freedom Caravan on January 4, 1959 meant the beginning of a new era, the victory of the Cuban Revolution and the end of a regime that had been considered oppressive.

 The arrival of Fidel Castro and the rebel army in Camagüey was received with enthusiasm and hope by the population, who saw in them the defenders of their rights and aspirations.
