Nursing: specialty with deep humanistic roots (+ Photos)

Altruism, dedication and love are synonyms that characterize nursing in Cuba, a profession that puts into practice the attention to patients who need special care for presenting different types of medical disorders and diseases.

In these moments that the world is going through a health emergency caused by COVID-19, these professionals participate in investigations, collaborate in isolation centers, hospitals and other nations, bringing humanism and hope.

Such commendable work has managed to save the lives of thousands of people who have been affected by the new SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

On this International Nursing Day, these men and women deserve full recognition for ensuring timely, comprehensive, competent and responsible care.

The anniversary also pays tribute to Florence Nightingale, who was born on May 12 and is considered the founder of modern nursing. (Maykel Torres La Rosa / Radio Cadena Agramonte) (Photos: Humberto Cid González / Radio Cadena Agramonte.)
