Camagüey said goodbye to summer, but not to the heat


The heat is perceived in Cuba throughout the year, but undoubtedly in July and August the thermometers reach values that translate into sweat and tiredness in the body; Fans, umbrellas or a refreshing drink occupy many scenes of everyday life at this time of summer.

According to data provided by the Climatology Group of the Provincial Meteorological Center, the average temperature in July ranged between 26.8 and 28.8°C in the territory of Agramontino, which corresponds to what usually happens in that month; and the most noticeable difference was in Nuevitas, 0.5 °C above, when comparing the recorded value with the historical norm.

In the case of August, the average temperature fluctuated between 27.0 and 28.7°C, behavior close to the traditional, and only in Santa Cruz del Sur was slightly lower, with 0.4°C below the numbers of those that have reference in terms of that indicator.

In both months, the thermal sensation perceived by people classified in the range of hot, hence the numerous expressions in the streets of Camagüey that show the necessary protection against the intense sunlight, and the alternatives that the human being applies to attenuate the high temperatures.
