Camagüey advanced to the postseason of the National Baseball Series (+ Video, Photo and Audio)


Camagüey, June 25.- The Camagüey team advanced to the postseason of the 62nd National Baseball Series by defeating Ciego de Ávila two runs for one in a dramatic game today at the Cándido González Morales stadium in City of the Earthenware Jars.

The superb pitching work of left-handed Dariel Góngora stood out, who worked the full nine innings; while the two scores that gave Camagüey the victory were driven by Leslie Anderson and Luis González, the latter with a spectacular play at the beginning of the ninth that helped to seal the victory of the Toros de la Llanura.

The final numbers of the challenge were the following: Ciego de Ávila, one run, six hits and one missed opportunity to the field. Camagüey, two scores, ten indisputables and zero errors.

The game was won by Góngora, who has accumulated seven wins and five losses so far in the championship, and was lost by reliever Osvaldo Cárdenas, with three and six. In this clash Osvaldo Vázquez, for the Tigers team, hit his 14th home run in the current baseball tournament.
