Credit Bank in Camagüey continues Tropical card management

Camagüey, June 20. - Tropical cards, formerly known as Bandec prepaid cards, are valid for both retail and wholesale.

Far from being a novelty, it has established itself as an accessible and versatile financial option for an increasingly broad audience, facilitating the purchase of goods and services in the country, such as imports and fuel.

According to Yoryana Sarduy Cruz, Communications and Marketing Manager at Credit and Trade Bank (Bandec, for its acronym in Spanish) in Camagüey, two years ago the use of these cards was extended to both the foreign and Cuban population. In addition, it was indicated that all individuals with different amounts in USD or at the exchange rate in national currency could have access to the cards through the institution because previously they were acquired through currency exchange offices or at airports.

The Tropical card market is experiencing significant growth due to the growing demand for financial solutions, especially among young people and people without access to traditional bank accounts. Their ease of use and lack of credit requirements make them a gateway to the financial system for many.

They are a practical solution for everyone in the country, including foreigners, by facilitating transactions with just a security PIN. These cards are accessible to all businesses, including those in dollars for service centers, new stores in the country, the Mariel Development Zone, and all services where people purchase with the MLC card.

Within the Cuban financial landscape, Tropical cards are viable as they offer an alternative to traditional payment methods. With a growth in usage over the last two years, the growing demand for the service is evident. (Televisión Camagüey) (Photo: Taken from the Internet)
