Camagüey, Jul 4.- An extensive program of activities to enjoy a Summer with Love is proposed by the Union of Young Communists (UJC), an organization with more than 23,000 militants and 2,161 grassroots organizations in the province.
Maysel Sabido Collado, head of the Ideological Department of the Provincial Committee of the UJC, informed the Cuban News Agency that from July 28 to 31 and from August 18 to 21 the traditional summer camps will be held, with the purpose of contributing to healthy recreation, contact with nature and knowledge of history.
On this occasion, he explained, the Camagüey universities will welcome a representation of 200 young people, among which a selection of the most prominent members of the Federation of High School Students (FEEM), the University Student Federation (FEU) and workers of socioeconomic entities of the province.
Intense days of voluntary work in the productive poles of Esmeralda and Sierra de Cubitas, sporting and generational meetings, exchanges with young border guards from the municipality of Nuevitas and tours of the Diving Center and the El Real Salina of the town of Santa Lucía, will liven up the period summer, he pointed out.
Among the proposals with the greatest impact, the Expo Fair scheduled for August 12 in greeting to International Youth Day stands out, an opportunity in which the most relevant innovations of the Youth Technical Brigades will be awarded according to their impact on the development of the territory.
Sabido Collado explained that during the night of that day the new generations of people from Camagüey will meet on the steps of the Álvaro Morell Urban Pre-University Institute, to hold a political-cultural evening awaiting the 97th anniversary of the birth of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.
