Camagüey, Jul 24.- The feat of July 26, 1953 inspires the socialist construction in the largest of the Antilles, assured the member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and its first secretary in Camagüey, Federico Hernández Hernández, during the provincial act that in the municipality of Carlos Manuel de Céspedes evoked the event carried out by the Centennial Generation.
Before a representation of inhabitants of that territory, deserving of the category of Vanguard regarding the event, the top leader assured that the people of Camagüey mainly support the Revolution and write glorious pages of creative resistance at a time of many complexities, but always with the absolute conviction that Cuba will win.
He recognized that many problems remain to be resolved in the province, some associated and accumulated as a result of the United States blockade; and others, generated by internal errors, lack of organization, control, demand, foresight and integration, and in certain places due to lack of commitment, combativeness, morality and exemplarity.
He explained that it is necessary to work with the people in the solution or the search for alternatives, in order to promote greater well-being, and in that sense.
When reviewing the main results in the socioeconomic order and the challenges of the coming months, Hernández Hernández expressed that the work of the Revolution is not stopped in Camagüey, but greater effectiveness is needed in the role of dirctives and leaders; while he stressed the decision to improve what must be changed with the daily work in defense of the freedom won since 1959.
"This people, the one that lives beyond the influence of the Internet, knows the price it has paid for the peace it enjoys and remains willing to preserve it, from Moncada to Moncada and with all the victories," he concluded his speech.
Meanwhile, Pavel Blanco Martín, first secretary of the Party in Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, referring to the significance of the historical event that occurred seven decades ago, pointed out that July 26 is a symbol of combat for the defense of sovereignty, "it is a moment to set goals, commitments and celebrate victories".
During the commemoration, new members of the Union of Young Communists and the Communist Party of Cuba received their cards; political and mass entities and organizations in the western territory deserved recognition for the work in the last stage; and the demarcations of Camagüey, Nuevitas, Vertientes and Sibanicú were honored for obtaining the status of Outstanding.
