Social organizations prepare a new day of protest in Peru

Lima, Oct 4.- The National Unitary Coordinator of Struggle (CNUL in Spanish) of Peru confirmed the preparation of a new national day of protest against the Government, which a well-known analyst described as dictatorial.

Jorge Pizarro, spokesperson for the CNUL (in Spanish), declared that the protest was carried out by union, agrarian, student, youth, regional, neighborhood and progressive parties that coincide in the demand for new early elections and a process towards a constituent assembly.

After recalling the importance of a similar day last July 19, when the next one was scheduled for October 12, he pointed out that the date was confirmed in an assembly in which more than 200 delegates from social organizations from the vast majority of the regions.

The meeting agreed to strengthen unity against the Government, the Congress of the Republic under neoliberal control and the de facto powers that usurp the popular will by applying public policies of those who lost the 2021 elections, according to the call to the protest.

These sectors, the document added, are responsible for nearly 70 deaths in the repression of protests against the rise, by succession, of Dina Boluarte to the Presidency to replace the imprisoned and dismissed Pedro Castillo, in December 2022.

These forces, he noted, assault the justice system to achieve impunity for their crimes and at the same time go after natural and energy resources, immediately after the oil from the lots in Talara, a province in the north of the Peruvian coast.

The platform of the protest proposes the resignation of Boluarte, the dissolution of the unpopular unicameral Parliament, justice for the victims of repression and the rejection of the congressional offensive that seeks to remove the members of the National Board of Justice (JNJ in Spanish). that appoints and dismisses judges and prosecutors, among other points.

Meanwhile, analyst Juan de la Puente, whose comments are characterized by reflection and moderation, declared that the Boluarte Government has ceased to be a dictatorship under the control of Parliament and has become a full and multiple dictatorship.

I do not understand why? People continue to talk about what we are experiencing as a parliamentary dictatorship; My impression is that the entire political regime is already a dictatorship. He added that it may possibly be a multiple dictatorship, because private media outlets, business leaders and autonomous organizations related to the Executive participate in it.
