Haiti's prime minister management under critique

Port-au-Prince, Oct. 6.- The Dessalinian Popular Patriotic Movement demanded the resignation of the Prime Minister of Haiti, Ariel Henry, and criticized that during his administration insecurity reached unprecedented levels.

According to the political structure, since Henry assumed power in July 2021, kidnappings and murders have multiplied, despite his promises to guarantee the safety of the population.

Likewise, he questioned the president for not fulfilling his commitment to hold elections to restore democratic stability, which leaves the country in a state of political limbo.

The Patriotic Movement also denounced the lack of sanctions against the corrupt and the increase in food insecurity, which reached record numbers during its mandate and currently affects 4.35 million citizens, of them more than a million in a state of emergency, according to official figures.

After two years, Ariel Henry has not managed to advance the country, which instead suffers a situation of regression, while the lack of significant economic progress causes many citizens to survive in precariousness, the instance stated.

Faced with this situation, the movement demanded the resignation of the head of government to make way for a democratic transition. (Text and photo: PL)
