Díaz-Canel reiterates Cuba's solidarity with the Palestinian cause (+ Post)

Havana, Oct 23.- Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and president of the Republic, today reiterated Cuba's solidarity with the Palestinian cause and assured that the genocide carried out by Israel is a shame for humanity that must stop.

In the social network X (formerly Twitter), Díaz-Canel highlighted that when speaking at the Summit of Heads of State and Government on migration (in Chiapas, Mexico), his first words were of strong condemnation of the ruthless massacre of defenseless people in this conflict.

“Every moment of impunity for action, passivity, double standards or silence will cost more innocent lives,” the president added to his message.

Cuba's position, expressed in a recent statement regarding the escalation of violence between Israel and Palestine, is one of rejection of the deaths of civilians and innocent people from all parties involved in this conflict, without differentiating ethnicity, nationality or religious faith.

The text from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Largest of the Antilles made an urgent call for a ceasefire and to immediately facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Cuba demands the cessation of bellicose rhetoric and reaffirms its support for a broad, just and lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, based on the creation of two States, which allows the exercise of the right to self-determination of the Palestinian people and the creation of an independent and sovereign Palestinian State within the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, and that also guarantees the right of return for refugees, the declaration highlights.
