Industrial Fishing Company of Camagüey for fulfilling exports


Camagüey, 28.- The Industrial Fishing Company of Santa Cruz del Sur (Episur) Argélico Lara Correa plans to capture more than 250 tons (t) of lobster at the end of this year, with the objective of fulfilling the export plan and improving the indices economics of the entity.

Of that total, 188.3 t have been captured to date, reported Nelson Toledo Cabrera, general director of Episur, while pointing out the quality and variety in its various assortments as an important purpose to achieve in the entity, recognized for its fishing gear and the constant innovation of its workforce.

He pointed out that today they show positive economic indicators by meeting sales, income, an adequate level of expenses and the average salary of workers exceeds 10 thousand pesos.

As Toledo Cabrera explained to the Cuban News Agency, other efforts within the investment process are oriented towards the manufacture of new vessels of different types until 2030, which will be built in Gibara, Manzanillo and Cienfuegos to reestablish the scale fleet, which is the most deteriorated.

Within the industrial team, he said, they are immersed in the importation of a new line of sausages and sausages that will significantly increase production for the population through marketing in fishmongers and points of sale.

He added that the marine shrimp plan was significantly affected by the fuel deficit starting in the second quarter, in addition to the accompanying fauna (other species) that this activity provides.

The fleet needs fuel, said the manager, and although within the provincial economic strategy we have priority it is always not possible to comply, however various strategies are carried out.

Currently, savings measures are implemented to achieve a reduction in consumption, such as the redistribution of the workforce, the use of teleworking and remote working modalities, and fuel is prioritized for the most efficient vessels.
