Cairo, 1st. Nov.- The Arab Parliament today called on the world to intensify pressure on Israel to force it to stop its aggression against the Gaza Strip, after accusing that country of committing war crimes against civilians.
We urge parliaments, unions and people to denounce the humanitarian catastrophe caused by the genocidal war waged by the occupying power in that coastal enclave, the pan-Arab legislative body said in a statement.
It also criticized the failure of international institutions, especially the United Nations (UN), to stop the conflict and the double standards of Western powers.
It highlighted that more than 8,700 Gaza’s citizens lost their lives due to bombings that began 26 days ago, including more than 3,300 minors.
The Gaza Strip became a disaster zone and uninhabitable, lacking all the elements necessary for human life, he stated.
We demand to stop the bloodshed and provide protection to civilians, especially children, women and the elderly, he stressed.
Likewise, it rejected Israel's military offensive with the argument of self-defense.
What that country is doing in that territory is a total war and genocide classified as a crime under international law, he warned. (PL) (Photo: PL/Archive)
