Presidents of Mexico and the United States will talk about migration

Mexico City, Nov 14.- The presidents of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, and of the United States (USA), Joe Biden, will hold this Friday, in the city of San Francisco, California, a meeting “to strengthen the bilateral relationship”, within the framework of the summit of the 21 economies of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC).

During a press conference in Sonora, López Obrador stated this Monday that his government protects travelers in search of respect for human rights. Furthermore, he recognized the complexity of the issue due to the economic and social welfare crisis in some countries.

López Obrador intends to urge Biden to approve a plan to help the people and eliminate the blockade of Cuba.

White Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in a statement: “President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. will meet with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador of Mexico for a bilateral meeting in San Francisco on November 17 at margin of APEC Economic Leaders Week.”

The White House reported in a bulletin that “during the meeting, the two leaders will discuss ongoing efforts to strengthen the bilateral relationship between the United States and Mexico and address issues of shared concern.”

“President Biden and President López Obrador will also discuss how we can continue to work together as partners to manage migration at our shared border and mobilize a hemispheric response to this challenge,” the bulletin adds. (Telesur) (Photo: @CanalCaribeCuba/Archive)
