Russia accuses the United States of not wanting to stop Israel in Gaza

Moscow, Nov 15.- According to Russia, the United States does not want to "tie Israel's hands" in practical terms, according to what Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said this Wednesday.

Speaking to reporters this day, Lavrov said that "Essentially, in practical terms, Washington does not want to tie Israel's hands," while noting that the UN Security Council twice rejected Russia's resolution calling for a halt. the fire in the conflict in the Gaza Strip.

Lavrov added that the United States considers all Russian initiatives hostile. On the other hand, he insisted on calling on the parties to end hostilities.

At another point in his speech, the minister said that Iran and Lebanon "do not want to be involved in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, they will not participate in it if there are no provocations."

"I think neither Iran nor Lebanon want to get involved in this crisis," Lavrov said. According to him, these countries will not participate in the conflict if there are no provocations, despite the presence of Hezbollah in Lebanon and pro-Palestinian movements in Iran.

"I don't see any desire on the part of Iran or any other country for a full-scale war in the region. The problem is that if this restraint is perceived as a weakness, as a green light to do whatever it wants in Gaza it would be a big mistake," Lavrov added.

The Foreign Minister recalled that the position of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the solution to the Middle East crisis is only possible on the basis of a "two-state" formula approved by the UN Security Council, which provides for the creation of an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 territory bordering its capital in East Jerusalem.

The death toll in the Zionist attacks in the Gaza Strip exceeded 11,500 people and more than 29,000 people were injured. (Telesur) (Photo: Ria Novosti)
