Camagüey, January 13.- The Vice Prime minister of the Republic of Cuba Inés María Chapman Waugh appreciated in Camagüey some of the constructive actions carried out to celebrate the 510th anniversary of the former Villa de Santa María del Puerto del Príncipe, the Next February 2nd.
The first stage of the cultural corridor that is projected on a segment of Independencia Street - which includes in this initial phase the areas of the park adjacent to the Coppelia ice cream parlor - will give the residents of Camagüey a leisure space in which renewable energy is used, explained José Rodríguez Barreras, director of the Office of the Historian of the City of Camagüey.
The Vice Prime Minister praised this experience and considered that it can be extended to other public spaces in the country, which means projects like this one that, from modern conceptions, contribute to the spiritual enrichment of the inhabitants.
She also toured the small square of the Principal Theater, where a renovation is already palpable, and part of Ignacio Agramonte Street, in the section from the Plaza de los Trabajadores to the Callejón de los Milagros, an area in which he confirmed the rehabilitation work in both sidewalks, as well as recreation options in some facilities.
On the Cadena Agramonte station, the provincial director of Radio, Alicia Sosa Velázquez, explained the construction tasks being carried out on the property and the recovery that is being experienced after the fire that occurred last July, thanks to the support of the authorities of the territory and the Institute of Information and Social Communication.
Sosa Velázquez pointed out details of the prestigious history of the Radio in this central-eastern Cuban region, and live during the night program Familiarmente Tuyo, Chapman Waugh recognized the importance of the medium of communication, regarding the upcoming centenary - on January 16 - of the first radio broadcasts in Camagüey.
Previously, she checked in the municipality of Nuevitas, together with Antonio Rodríguez Rodríguez, president of the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources, the actions to achieve greater stability and quality in the water supply to the population, an opportunity in which he exchanged with managers and workers , and in the city of Camagüey he elaborated on the work of the Integrated Center for Water Technologies and appreciated the first fruits of the investment being carried out in the flexible packaging factory.
Roberto Conde Silverio, member of the Provincial Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC); Yaimyr Victoria Basulto, head of the Ideological Department of the Provincial Committee of the PCC; and Tamira González Jiménez, director of Culture in Camagüey, also accompanied the Vice Prime Minister, who congratulated the people of Camagüey a few days before the birthday of the princely town.
