Camagüey, February 3.- With the presence of the members of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba Esteban Lazo Hernández, president of the National Assembly of People's Power and the Council of State; and Salvador Valdés Mesa, Vice President of the Republic, the Coppelia Park was inaugurated in Camagüey, with several benefits and services that already capture the attention of the population.
Just when the 510th anniversary of the founding of the former town of Santa María del Puerto del Príncipe was celebrated, the members of the Central Committee, Joel Queipo Ruiz, member of the Secretariat and head of its Economic-Productive Department, also participated in the opening; Jorge Luis Tapia Fonseca, vice prime minister of the Republic; Federico Hernández Hernández, first secretary in Camagüey; and Governor Jorge Enrique Sutil Sarabia.
Thanks to the work, professionalism and perseverance, the Office of the Historian of the City of Camagüey (OHCC) thus delivers, as part of a cultural corridor in a segment of Independencia Street, this first stage that is dedicated to classical ballet, and in particular to the Camagüey Ballet, founded on December 1st. 1967 and whose general director, Regina Balaguer Sánchez, a member of the Cuban Parliament, attended the event.
In public spaces, the use of renewable energy through solar panels stands out for the benefit of lighting fixtures, and provides the possibility of charging mobile devices that need it; At the same time, the principle of inclusivity and non-discrimination against people with disabilities and the use of new technologies stands out, as evidenced by the large LED screen for the communication of heritage and the dissemination of cultural events.
Members of the Arlequín artistic group, of the OHCC itself, and of the Fernando Alonso Ballet and Dance Promotion Center offered a show to the locals, and at the end, Lazo Hernández praised them for the quality of the presentation, at the height of Camagüey’s culture.
The President of the National Assembly of People's Power and the Council of State urged great care of the new place, which constitutes a gift for the people of Camagüey on the 510th anniversary of the former princely town.
The dialogue between the leaders of the Revolution with the small artists, their families and the people in general who attended the official opening of Coppelia Park colored this Friday night in an environment that, as José Rodríguez Barreras, director of the OHCC, described it, It stands as an oasis of light, not only due to the use of renewable energy, but also due to its cultural projection.
