Havana, February 12.- In the context of the tenth edition of the World Summit of Governments taking place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Manuel Marrero Cruz, Prime Minister of Cuba, held meetings with authorities from several countries, focused on strengthening bilateral relations and addressing global challenges.

In a friendly atmosphere, Marrero Cruz met with Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technologies of the UAE, to whom he expressed his satisfaction for participating in the forum, a Granma newspaper reported today.

During the dialogue, the continuity of the working visit carried out in December 2023 by Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, was highlighted, ratifying Cuba's will to advance in an accelerated manner. in the implementation of the agreements reached at that time.

The Cuban Head of Government highlighted the importance of these agreements for the development of economic, commercial, financial and strategic cooperation relations, referring to the recent visit of a Antillean technical delegation to the UAE, which follows up on what was agreed between both leaders. 

Al Jaber emphasized the strengthening of ties between both countries based on trust, mutual respect and honesty.

In another instance, Marrero Cruz spoke with Ana Brnabi?, his counterpart from Serbia, about the importance of the Summit debates and ethics in the use of technologies for sustainable development and global governance.

They also expressed a willingness to expand ties, especially in the biotechnology sector.

In a meeting with Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications of the UAE, the Cuban Premier highlighted the importance of promoting access to new technologies to foster equality, promote human rights and contribute to the progress of the people.

Later, during a meeting with Klaus Martin Schwab, founder and executive president of the World Economic Forum, Marrero Cruz discussed renewable energy, climate change, and economic and financial management.

In addition, the Cuban Head of Government received Robert Kali?ák, Deputy Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic and Minister of Defense, with whom he evaluated bilateral cooperation and the potential to expand economic ties, placing special emphasis on the biotechnology industry and addressing the measures imposed by the United States against Cuba.

Together they evaluated the bilateral agenda and the progress of cooperation, as well as the potential of their countries to expand economic and commercial ties, with emphasis on the biotechnology industry.

Among other topics, Kali?ák spoke out against the measures imposed by the United States against Cuba, with a blockade that has intensified in recent years.

Marrero Cruz participates today, along with a delegation from the largest of the Antilles, in the World Summit of Governments, which will meet until next Wednesday in the UAE.
